St. Mary’s General Hospital announces new president

Mark Fam will start Feb. 6

Following an extensive search, St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener has announced the organization’s new president.

Mark Fam will start on February 6.

Fam, described an accomplished health care executive with progressive leadership experience, is currently vice president of clinical programs at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto.

He is also an assistant professor with the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and associate professor at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Sherri Ferguson has been acting as interim president. She will remain with the hospital until her retirement in late March to ensure a smooth transition.
