One of the bikers had swiped Cooke’s car and he got out to investigate, police said. The bikers then allegedly beat on him.

One also pulled a gun on him, police said and another even jumped in Cooke’s car and drove away, according to the New York Post.

Cooke was taken to hospital and held in the ICU, but died Friday.

No arrests have been made.

Cooke was “on a date with his significant other” when he was attacked, according to a GoFundMe page set up for him prior to his death.

He most recently took on the role of working as a court special advocate for Exodus Transitional Community, which provides services for currently and formerly incarcerated people, according to his LinkedIn profile.
